What UTalento is
UTalento is a career-and-wellbeing companion for young people. It helps you understand yourself, see paths that fit, and take one clear next step, instead of facing the whole mountain at once.
Most guidance tools do one of two things: a personality quiz that ends with a label, or a job board that assumes you already know what you want. UTalento sits in between. It helps you find the direction and the first move, and it grows with you from high school into university and your first real roles.
It speaks in the first person, like a friend who happens to know a lot about work and study. It never shouts, never ranks you against other people, and never hands your private results to anyone else.
How it works for high-school students
In high school, the question is rarely “what job” yet. It is “who am I, and which direction fits me?” UTalento answers that gently, through a few short steps you can take in any order.
Your starting point
You begin with a few quick choices: which activities pull you in, how you like to learn, what you value. This maps your interests using the Holland (RIASEC) model and suggests study programs that lean your way, from hands-on to university-prep.
Your read (the You tab)
You get an Energy Profile that shows where your energy comes from, and The Portrait, a warm, human description of how you tend to think and work. It reads like someone describing you kindly, not a score.
Paths that fit
The Paths view shows real careers matched to you, each with a “way in”: the entry roles and real employers that lead there. You react with “Looks interesting” or “Not for me”, save the ones you like, and ask for new matches any time. Curious about a specific dream job? Type it in and see the path in reverse.
Try the work (Simulate)
Quick Rounds are three-minute tasters of different jobs, just to feel what pulls you. Work Simulations go deeper: short, realistic tasks that quietly show your strengths, like attention to detail or staying steady under pressure. You learn by doing, not by guessing.
Room to grow (Grow and Guide)
The Grow tab turns everything into a small, doable roadmap toward the paths you like. And the Guide is a calm companion you can talk to whenever something is on your mind, turning a worry into one next step.
How it works for university students
At university, the question shifts: not “what interests me” but “what can I realistically do with this degree, and how do I get there?” UTalento turns your studies and skills into an honest read on employability.
Discover your range
A short guided journey (around fifteen minutes) sequences a few light activities and then reveals your employability as a range, from a floor to a ceiling, not a single number. The width is honest uncertainty: proving things narrows it, and doing things raises it.
Your CV, read closely
Upload a CV and UTalento reads it for education, experience, skills, and languages. Your contact details are removed before any analysis. What it finds becomes a set of claims to prove, because on their own, words on a CV do not move your score.
Prove what you can do
Pick a skill and prove it in a few minutes: a short adaptive check, a real work-sample task grounded in your own experience, and a follow-up that asks you to defend your answer. Only proven skills lift your range, which keeps the read honest.
Benchmark against the real market
Your proven skills are compared against real occupations and live labour-market demand, drawn from public data sources like O*NET, Sweden’s Arbetsförmedlingen, and the EU’s CEDEFOP. You see where you stand and where the demand is heading.
Grow, then apply
The Grow tab lays out a path-anchored roadmap: measure, learn, prove, apply. When you are ready, you can apply for roles with your words and your facts. You do not need a polished CV, and your employability score stays private.
How it works, under the hood
UTalento reads you from four kinds of signal, and it weighs what you do more heavily than what you say. Your interests and values come from simple self-report. Your personality feeds The Portrait, a human read of how you tend to work. “How you show up” comes from short situational questions about handling pressure, working with others, and following through. And simulations turn real tasks into evidence of your strengths.
These combine into guidance that is always shown as a range with a plain-language band, like “early estimate”, “narrowing”, or “confident”, never a bare trait number. The more you show, the tighter and more confident the read becomes.
One thing we are careful about: we do not match you to a personality type. Your personality only colours your Portrait, the narrated read of you. It never becomes the reason a career is suggested, and how you feel never lowers a job-fit result.
What makes it different
A few choices set UTalento apart from a quiz or a job board.
Your score is yours
Your fit and employability results are private. They are a guide for your next step, not a verdict on you, and they are never shown to employers or schools.
Evidence over claims
Saying you can do something does not move your score. Showing it does. Simulations and skill checks carry more weight than words on a page.
Apply without a CV
You can apply for roles with plain words and objective facts. Employers see what you chose to share, never your private score or personality.
Built on real data
Career paths, salaries, and demand come from public labour-market and education sources, not guesswork, so the picture reflects the real world.
Common questions
Is UTalento free to use?
You can start for free. Creating your profile, exploring paths, and trying simulations do not cost anything. Some deeper features and institutional tools may sit behind an account or a school or university partnership.
Who is UTalento for?
Mainly two groups: high-school students exploring who they are and which direction fits, and university students turning a degree into real first roles. Schools and universities use it to support their students, and employers can receive applications through it.
Do employers see my score or personality?
No. Your fit and employability results are private to you, and your personality is never shared. When you apply, employers only see the words and facts you choose to share.
Does UTalento use AI?
Yes, in a careful way. AI helps read your CV, grade a work sample, and power the companion chat. It supports your judgment and never makes decisions about you on its own, and your results are always advisory.
How is it different for high-school and university students?
For high-schoolers it is about discovery: interests, strengths, and paths that fit, with simulations to try the work. For university students it is about employability: a realistic range for your field, what to prove or build, and how to reach your first roles.
Where does the career and job-market data come from?
From public sources. Occupations and skills draw on the O*NET framework, and demand and outcomes draw on national and EU labour-market and education data, such as Sweden’s Arbetsförmedlingen and the EU’s CEDEFOP. UTalento shows what the data supports, and stays honest about what it does not yet know.
How do I get started?
